About

The Cozy Hollow

Inside The Cozy Hollow

The Cozy Hollow is a child centered, nature inspired, play based space designed for young children and their caregivers who love them. We believe children learn best through open ended play, creativity, movement, and connection, both indoors and outdoors.

Our space is intentionally calm, warm, and thoughtfully designed to support imaginative play, sensory exploration, creative arts and social connection. There are no screens, no overstimulation, and no pressure to perform. Just time and space for children to be children.

The Cozy Hollow offers 2 drop-in play sessions daily from Wednesday to Saturday. Whether you’re coming for free play, creative exploration, or simply a cozy place to spend time together, you’re welcome here.

The Story of

The Cozy Hollow

The Cozy Hollow was created as a place where childhood can unfold slowly, thoughtfully, and with care. It is a space rooted in curiosity, creativity, connection to nature, and the belief that children learn best through unhurried, meaningful play.

Behind The Cozy Hollow is Maggie, a Registered Early Childhood Educator with over 18 years of experience in high-quality early learning environments. She is also a Forest School Practitioner, a lifelong learner, and a parent to two young children who inspire her work every day.

Maggie brings together professional knowledge and hands-on experience to thoughtfully design spaces where children feel safe to explore, imagine, and follow their curiosity at their own pace. Her background in Early Childhood Education and development guides every aspect of The Cozy Hollow, from the layout of the space to the flow of each program.

The Ways of the Hollow

  • Be Kind and Gentle: Use words and hands that respect others and keep everyone safe.
  • Stay Close: Adults are present to guide and support children during play.
  • Food is welcome in designated snack areas however we ask that no nuts are present in food brought from home.
  • Use Materials Thoughtfully: Treat toys, tools, and materials with care and return them when finished. If something breaks let the staff know.
  • Play Safely: Shoes off inside, food in designated areas, and pause when needed to keep play safe.
  • Care for the Hollow: Treat the space, its natural elements, and each other with respect. Rough play that could cause damage may be paused. We will start to clean up together 5 minutes before the end of the session together to promote respect for our environment and keep the space safe and clean. Please feel free to support in whatever way you feel you are able in the process.

Together, we keep The Cozy Hollow a calm, welcoming place where children can explore, play, and imagine.
